Day 63 of 365 "Good Manners"

This is Cub Scouts night and I have the honor of teaching the young boys about manners. I was amazed at how many of them had so much to say on the subject. They really wanted to let me know that you should say “Thank You” “Yes ma’am” and “No sir”.

Day 62 of 365 "Radio Show"

Wednesdays are great days for me. These are the days in which I get to do my radio show “Striking Conversations”. It is a show Charles and I began about 2 years ago to address marital relationships and anything else we could think of. It has been a great adventure.

Day 61 of 365 "Read Across America"

Today I assisted the librarian at our son’s school with Read Across America. It was awesome to see the young readers that went to the different classrooms to read to their fellow students. The children had a blast.

Day 60 of 365 "Almost 44"
March 5 is my birthday. I will be 44 years old. It has been great to be in my 40's. You know it is past those very interesting teen years, through my 20's when I was in college and had a great time, and into my 30's when I realized that time was passing faster than I thought.

Day 59 of 365 "Speaking Engagement"
This was the last day of our celebration of Black History Month. I was asked to speak at a wonderful church in my hometown. The theme centered around looking back at where we had come from. I chose for my topic a story found in Joshua 4.

Day 58 of 365 "Pinewood Derby"
Today was the day for the District Pinewood Derby for our Cub Scouts. It was exciting. We had to get up at about 5:15 am to be there at 6:30am to help with the setup.

Day 57 of 365 "Activities for Children"
Today is the day I devote to the two smallest children in our family. They are two and four and full of energy. We take a trip to the YMCA to run around, shoot a few hoops and swim. It is a great few hours to watch my boys mature when it comes to exercise.

Day 56 of 365 "The State of my Family"
A few of the blogs posted recently have dealt with my family and all of us being ill. Let me first say that there is nothing like having a sick home. I mean you bring out the big guns: Lysol, Purex, Purell and laundry detergent with bleach in it. The children constantly hear, "Wash your hands."

Day 55 of 365 "Still Under the Weather"

Well the house is still not feeling as good as we could. When Honey gets down something is really going on. I am getting better and so are the children. It is difficult to think when you just want to be medicated.
