Day 177 of 365 "Reading Again" |
As a preteen to young adult, I found myself reading everything I could
get my hands on. There were times I would not get any sleep because the
books were so awesome I could not put them down. Well that was before I
found that many of the books today are riddled with so much profanity
and sex that I could not get past the jacket of the book. So I find
myself going back to the books I read in my earlier years. Most of them
were self help or what people call motivational books.

Day 176 of 365 "Active Christian Warfare?" |
Are Christians today waging a convincing strategy to spiritual war? At
times it seems as though we are allowing others to wage a war and we
just happen to be in the midst. In order for a war to be a war, there
has to be a battle between two sides. Each side has offense and defense
in mind as they step on the battlefield. We do know that the ultimate
war has already been won by the wonderful Savior we serve; however, we
are allowing the enemy to win too many battles with us not actively
waging war.

Day 175 of 365 "Living with Me" |
|
After much contemplation, I have come to the conclusion that it must be difficult living with me. There are demands that I make on myself and others. There are emotions that arise at the most inopportune times. There are foods that I love that really are not appealing to the rest of my family. My level of commitment to some things is not comparable to the commitment of the other members of my family. I must be difficult to live with.

Day 174 of 365 "Jesus Sitting Next to Me" |
|
As I watch television, I have realized how sick the world is. Most of the shows arriving in the fall are not the most positive viewing possibilities. They are usually full of attitudes that are contrary to Christ. What are we as Christians going to do for the the cause of Christ in the earth?

Day 173 of 365 "Who is in the Battle?" |
|
I was reminded of a scripture that I had read and passed on by without realizing what I had read. It is Joshua 5:13-14.
13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?"
14 "Neither," he replied, "but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, "What message does my Lord [a] have for his servant?"

Day 172 of 365 "A Blessing" |
|
Women, have you ever looked at, thought about or pondered how much power it takes to be a man with a family? Especially when that man is out there doing whatever it takes to provide for said family. When he is up at night trying to get further ahead because he wants so much for his family? The times he has been dog tired and still finds the strength to play with the kids, mow the lawn and read the bedtime story?

Day 171 of 365 "There's a Father in the House" |
|
Not having the benefit of a father in the house while I was growing up, I am excited that God has given my children the blessing of having a father in the house. Our days are much better when Daddy is home. The boys especially have a great time showing their dad what they can do.

Day 170 of 365 "Homecoming" |
|
Today Honey and Jr. will arrive back at home. I have to make it to the store to pick up his birthday cake and gift. Then I remembered that tomorrow is Father’s Day. What do you get the guy that gives so much of himself to his family? I was in a quandary.

Day 165-169 of 365 "Day Camp" |
|
I am here to report that I made it through five days of Cub Scout Day Camp! I can also report I have never been hotter, more tired or happier while outside. This was an amazing adventure for me and our scouts. Our boys were wonderful and wanted to experience everything.
