Day 125 of 365
“Time”
There never seems to be much of it. We tend to think we spend most of it doing things we do not enjoy. It is one of the things we can never get back. So have you ever thought of how you actually spend those precious moments?
I did. The realization that I spend more time getting ready to do whatever needs to be done than I spend actually doing whatever it is I was preparing for. This thought made me think about my wedding day.
I spent so much time preparing for it. Mind you our wedding cost a total of about $600 and we planned it in about 3 months. I rented my $2000 dress for $50 and the cakes were a gift. I believe my flowers cost $80 (the most expensive thing there). I digress. The ceremony took all of 30 minutes.
Afterwards all we could do was eat cake, drink punch, gather up our daughter and go to bed. We have yet to go on our honeymoon. The point is we took so long to prepare for a few moments that I will cherish for a lifetime.
Time is what you make it. If you are following the Lord and being obedient to His commands then time is a gift that you use wisely. If you are living day to day with no purpose in mind then your time can seem fleeting. It may even seem as though the day, month or year will never end.
Perhaps you should find your purpose and then be about the business of fulfilling it. That is what I have decided to do. Come on let us move with purpose together!!
