“God Bless America”
The fallen heroes of our country have put themselves in harms way to protect our freedoms and the freedom of others. I am very proud to have family members that have represented several branches of the armed services. It is an awesome and very appreciated sacrifice.
Today the Troop and Pack, along with others, placed over 40,000 flags on the graves of those brave soldiers. What an awesome gift to give to a young boy. The opportunity to pay tribute to those they did not even know but have come to appreciate. The level of respect those young boys showed during the morning was something every parent could be proud of.
Then they got the added honor of retiring a tattered flag. I had not known what was done with flags that were worn. Now I know the Boy Scouts will through a ceremony of respect and care retire that flag. It was wonderful.
I love this country. Even if there are challenges, this is still the best county in which to live and raise children. Respect your country’s flag and its people.
