Day 164 of 365
“Day of Rest”
Yesterday while my daughter was going home, I was at training for Cub Scouts. I now know how to make doughnuts while at a campout. They were delicious and I cannot wait to share with the Scouts. I also sent Honey and our older son to Boy Scout Camp. That was an adventure of making a list and checking it twice. We prayed and they began their journey.
Mind you I have never been a very outdoorsy kind of girl. This joy of camping is fairly new. Being drenched with sunscreen and bug spray has only recently become one of my favorite pastimes. However, I would not trade these experiences for anything. Our boys that are currently in Scouts are growing by leaps and bounds. It is an amazing journey to be on with them.
Why am I talking about scouting today? The Day Camp begins tomorrow and I volunteered for all five days. So on today I attempted to rest. When I laid my head down on my pillow, I remembered there was a training session for me to attend in two hours. I got up; power naps are not my friends. The training prepared me well. I was ready and excited. I headed home to
rest.
Then I remembered we needed sack lunches and to the store I went. While buying lunch I remembered I needed some more sneakers for the week. Then while getting me a pair I bought the boys some I found on sale for them to wear while at camp. The cooler with wheels beckoned to me. The weather man caused me to buy water bottles. Once I got home I figured to save time I will pack the truck up that night.
Needless to say my day of rest became a day of work.
