"Preparing to Campout"
As you all may know, we have three Cub Scouts. You should also note that school was closed today. The streets are icy. Drivers are not too confident in their skills. It is COLD. But it is "Campout Night".
We are going. Last night I had to rush to the store to find a tent that would sleep five. We accepted the fact the tent would cost us $70. I got to the store, said a prayer and went to the camping section. God answers prayers. I found a tent that was originally $80 on sale for $20. Honey was so excited. He was praying the same prayer.
We pitched the tent in our bedroom on Thursday night just to be sure we could get it done tonight. It was big enough to sleep six perhaps. Exciting stuff.
Driving to the campsite was more than adventurous. Ice, flashing lights and trucks bigger than mine in a hurry do not mix. However, the boys and I were with a driver that knows his stuff. He is an awesome driver. We got there safely with no incidents.
Of course it is sleeting when we got there. The boys try to help but regardless of all the layers they had on they could only help a little then go in to get war. Charles and I got the tent up in record time.
We had light snacks, retired a flag and then we retired.
It was Cold. I had so many blankets and socks on the boys feet. They actually slept through the night.
I learned that there is nothing you can't do if you prepare. We prayed for a great time and good health. That is exactly what the Lord did for us.
Go on an adventure. Do something you would never dream of doing. Enjoy the simple things!!
