"Home Again"
The campout is done. We ate a wonderful breakfast the Scouts prepared. Had to leave to support a friend in need. The roads were no better at 10am. Once again, our great driver got us where we needed to be.
We arrived home at noon. The power was out. No heat (electric), no water (electric water pump for well). Thank God for two gas fireplaces, a neighbor with a generator that gave us drinking water and children that enjoy board games.
The chldren had a blast reading by flashlight. There must be a bedtime story. Bedtime was around 6:30pm, when it got dark. They were restless. This was way too early for bed. Finally fell asleep around 9pm.
They told me they enjoyed not having the television. It seemed as though they had a great time with each other.
I was excited they wanted to play every boardgame I bought for Christmas. There were several games of chess played, pictured colored and instruments played. It was a great day dispite the inconviences.
Perhaps we all need to take a break from the television, cell phone and the internet. Reconnect with your family without the distractions.
