“Time”
Time the one thing we cannot get back. Perhaps we should use it wisely. How are you spending your time? Do you find yourself in front of the television instead of doing something?
Television, video games and junk food are not only a challenge for our young people. We over the age of 40 have also fallen into the pattern of whatever is easier. It is a difficult place to rise up from. But we can do it.
January 1st has passed and so has your resolution perhaps. Do not give up! Just make small adjustments. Choose the shows you enjoy the most and watch them. Turn the television off at night. Tune in to a great station on the radio instead. Small incremental changes will feel awesome as you make more.
Let us lead our children into a brave new world of activity. Dedicate 30 minutes to spend with your children doing something they enjoy. I know it will be difficult. Change usually is. However, your children will enjoy your undivided attention. They will begin to “grow” on you and you will begin to “grow” on them.
Not all families spend “quality” time together and yours may fall into that category. Just make a decision to read them a book, play a game or gather in your bed to talk. You may find that you not only love them but you like them too.
