Day 61 of 365
“Read Across America”
Today I assisted the librarian at our son’s school with Read Across America. It was awesome to see the young readers that went to the different classrooms to read to their fellow students. The children had a blast.
There were doors to be judged based on the student’s creativity. There were some very colorful doors. The Dr. Seuss hats were great. I had no idea he had written so many books or that his name was something other than Dr. Seuss. His name is Theodor Seuss Geisel and the children were proud to let me know.
Volunteering at the school gives me just a little bit of insight of what it takes to gift our children with the knowledge held in a book. Reading is a precious gift. Be sure to give this life long present to a child you know.
