Day 63 of 365
“Good Manners”
This is Cub Scouts night and I have the honor of teaching the young boys about manners. I was amazed at how many of them had so much to say on the subject. They really wanted to let me know that you should say “Thank You” “Yes ma’am” and “No sir”.
These young minds knew how to be little gentlemen like opening the door for ladies or if anyone was close to you coming through a door. They advised me that you should let people off the elevator before you get on. One of our exercises was introducing one friend to another friend. They did an awesome job!!
Good manners also included polite language. How many of us use polite language? This would include not cursing in public. Not all of us use profanity and would prefer our children not hear it. I am sure we each have an extensive enough vocabulary that we can find other words to express what we are feeling when there are children and an elder in the vicinity.
Good manners…use them. Teach them.
