As I was reading an article in a well known magazine, I came across an article that stated that 45% of marriages end in divorce. I was alarmed to say the least. These days it seems that marriage is like legalized dating. You can get out of it with no repercussions.
Marriage should mean more to Christians because it is a covenant relationship that you each made with God. This part of your life is very different from the rest of your life. In this instance, it is a till death issue. None of us want to “sleep with the enemy” until we go on to meet Jesus, so the choosing of your mate is very important.
Christian couples stand up and fight for your relationships. Don’t let the enemy throw you and your relationship around. Recognize when the enemy is present, pray then get up and get on the battlefield for your marriage. We have a lot at stake as married couples. We invest our emotions, money and character into the spouse we choose. Please treat each other with the respect each of us is due.
Your marriage can get stronger as you fight for it. The goal is to get past a situation in such a way that the enemy has no ammunition to use at a later date. When you deal with a situation, deal with the entire thing. In our marriage, one of our goals is to have something new to deal with. Not to deal with the exact same issue over and over. Take some of the bullets the enemy is shooting at you away from him.
