"Normatic anesthesia", it is amazing how the conscience can be
desensitized and thus anesthetized. People will not question it
because they fear the reprisal of being ostracized.

Day of Thanksgiving
What a wonderful day for reflection. It is a day many of us
spend cooking, waiting for someone to finish cooking or eating whatever was
cooked. After a remarkable meal, we sit around as a family to talk or to play
games. Some may watch the game that is on for the day. It is truly a day for
families to get together to reflect and to perhaps even make plans for the next
year.
It is often during this time we remember those we lost. We
begin to speak of Big Mama’s dressing, Aunt Debbie’s pies and Uncle Sam with
his comments. However, we tend to reflect and these warm feelings come over us.
Tears may threaten. Hands may tremble. Heads may shake. During these moments we
know we have loved and lost.
So as you go on to “Black Friday” sale remember that you are
also creating memories that your family will recall. Be mindful that even if
you do not get that Blu Ray or Tom Tom, you have a family that will not only
remember that you were born and then passed on; they will remember what
happened during the dash on your headstone. They will remember the love and joy
you shared.
Make everyday a day of thanksgiving. Decide to life each day
as you are living this season of goodwill. When negative thoughts provoke you
in February remember how you dealt with it in early December. The reflections
we have are powerful. They can be a foundation of faith in an awe inspiring
Lord.
