We must understand the stones of our past. However Good or Bad, we stand upon those experiences. So it is not a question of will you stand but how will you Stand?
The past can become a trap, sabotaging relationships, wrecking emotions, and manipulating lives. Every past experience has the potential to propel, stay or destroy our present and future. We have the life opportunity to decide how we will fit together the stones of our past as we build the structures of our future. Leaving out any stone of experience weakens the structure of our possibilities and promises. But any stone misplaced is as equally dangerous as one omitted. We build our lives through decisions, events, and consequences. What, how, when, where, and with whom we choose to build determines the majesty of our person.
The past can seem like Matter. Unlike matter, the past can be created, but like matter it is never destroyed. It can, however, be Transformed and that is where our control over the effects of our past becomes visible.
We must understand our past so that we do not collide with the mistakes and obstacles that cause so many challenges. It is imperative that we check the historical rear view mirror of yesterday so that tomorrow is not just possible but probable. The ability to control our response to our past is one of God’s greatest gifts. It allows us the privilege of victory as conquerors instead of slavery as victims. Through choice, hard work and prayer we have the power to, not just overcome, but excel beyond our wildest imagination.
We find out, sometime almost to late, that the sacrifice of decision and effort is the price we must pay for victory through, not just over, our past.
In Victory, we can boldly exclaim, "With these Past stones I Build an Awesome Future"
