Day 154 of 365 "It's Our Anniversary"

There are so many emotions as I wake up today. It was 21 years ago that God gave me the awesome man I am sending off to work today. There have been ups and downs. Each one has been a growing moment for our relationship. We have had disappointments and made horrible decisions that we at times look at each other and say, “What were we thinking?!” Through it all I can say that when we learned to give it to the Lord, things began to be better.

Day 153 of 365 "Grocery Shopping for Summer"

School is a saving grace for a lot of reasons. One of them is that the children take with them a wonderful hot breakfast in the morning and on several days take a great lunch. Lunch costs about $1.25 per child and serves to get them in the truck after school. At that time we have a snack and something to drink. This snack will tide them over until a well balanced dinner.

Day 152 of 365 "Summer"

Today was the day I had been preparing for over the last two weeks. I have been searching the internet, newspapers and magazines to find activities for our children that did not include television or computers. Let me say it is a joy to have my June calendar set. Does that mean we will do all of the activities I have listed? By no means will that occur. What I have done is created options for our children.

Day 151 of 365 "A Holiday"

These are they days we all look forward to…Holidays!! This particular holiday honors very special people in our country and we should never forget the sacrifice of others that allows us to live as we do. Then after paying homage to those that do a wonderful job we can be thankful for the time we have with our family.

Day 150 of 365 "Praising God"

Children surely learn by watching their parents. Even before they figure out why you are doing something they tend to mimic your actions. At church I am amazed at how my sons will repeat what they hear their father say about Jesus.

Day 149 of 365 "God Bless America"
The fallen heroes of our country have put themselves in harms way to protect our freedoms and the freedom of others. I am very proud to have family members that have represented several branches of the armed services. It is an awesome and very appreciated sacrifice

Days 137 - 148 of 365 "Vacation"
These particular days were filled with getting ready for, having fun and recuperating from my sibling family vacation. It took me forever to pack due to not really knowing what the weather was going to do. The policy of paying for checked bags has definitely changed how we travel. I am going to have to learn how to pack better or learn to ship what I want and pack what I need. It was hilarious packing for this trip. However, we got it done.

Day 136 of 365 "Sunday"
We went to church today and had an awesome time. The children actually wanted to take their Bibles. Before it was like pulling teeth to get them to take them. Signs of improvement.

Day 135 of 365 "Grasshopper Social"
Today was a full and active day. I was scheduled to speak in Jackson TN and to be at the advancement activity for the Cub scouts on the same day and near the same time. The event in Jackson was awesome. The food was savory. The young people were attentive and very gracious hosts. I had a great time with them and I pray something I said took them further down the road to knowing God.
