A Day for Christ
I have noticed that several organizations have designated this to be a day of acts of random kindness.
Well I do not have a catchy title or anything like that, but this day can be special. This could be a day that we as Christians show the world the love that Christ has shown for us. We can use this day to go to work and give our level best at the job that we have. Christians cannot get caught up in the take a day off to show solidarity. We know that it is through the power and grace of Jesus the Christ that we even have a place of employment. We must show the world through our presence not our absence that Christ is our sustainer.
Striking Conversations would like for our community to join in on the idea. On 09/09/09 let us all do something nice for someone else, anonymously.
If what you do necessitates them knowing then make it a big deal.
If you are a pastor, acknowledge the members of your church that work tirelessly, without pay, by sending a letter through the mail to arrive on this day expressing your gratitude for their service. Acknowledge them all on Sunday.
It could be the coworker that you realize does not have enough money for lunch and you bring them back something to eat and put it in their cubicle without them knowing.
You could cook your family their favorite meal.
Help your child color a special picture for your spouse and put it on the fridge.
Give an additional offering to your church in cash without your name being on the envelope.
