Deciding
T
here have many times in my life someone has given a sermon that
stirs my soul. I go home and attempt to remember what was said that struck me as
something I could use to go forward and find it difficult. Today I came to a realization.
The realization is that I may not remember what was said but
I remember my decision. The decision made today was to walk out into the deep and not
be a spectator from the shore. Remembering that I made a decision means more
than the words or music that prompted the decision. I have now concluded that
the Lord just speaks. We have to act. His words prick our heart. The love he
shows gives us hope. Promises made by Him give us encouragement. It is Him and
not the vessel He used that will give us the strength to carry through on the
decision.
So I say to each of you that made an awesome decision today
to bury that decision in your heart so that the enemy cannot sway you. Become
as the palm tree with the tap root that runs so deep that it sways and bends
but never breaks. Do not succumb to the pressures of the world; instead use
them as a prompting to keep your eyes on the prize.
Do not give up. Do not give in. Keep on pressing. Remain encouraged.
Stay prayed and praised up. Hide beneath the blood. Let the cross ever be
present in your mind. Thank Him for His glory, majesty and love. Thank Him for
loving you. Obey His commands. Let Him use you!!!
