Putting Aside Childish Things |
|
Since coming home after witnessing the events on 1/19 and 1/20, I have find myself wondering, “What should I do next?” It is the same feeling some of us have felt after the wedding vows have been spoken and the guests have all gone home. You remember, the months of planning and the actual event lasted approximately 30 minutes. Many of us have followed the election cycle of 2008 with much more fervor than ever. Now that the oath has been taken, what next?
Well, I find that I have taken the President's mention of scripture to heart. Many of us have heard that particular passage before, however, now I am reflecting on it as never before. Putting away childish things can have several meanings. You may take it literally and have a mind-set shift to another “level” It may be that you let some things or people go. For some of us it could be a prompting to stop putting things off. The ideas, activities or projects the Lord has placed on your heart.
With jobs and money being lost at record levels, perhaps the Lord has given you the idea to assist your family through these challenging times. So I will encourage each of us to begin the journey the Lord has placed on our hearts. Let each of us being to serve our the Lord to the fullest and become what He would have us to be so that this nation can reflect His goodness.
