Will the Christian Please Stand Up!
Where are the Christians standing in all of these issues of today? I am not talking about the "Republican Right." I am speaking of those that are not Republican yet still identify ourselves as Christians. Does one party have the corner on Christian ideas? Am I not a Christian if I do not believe all of their political tenents? Well as a Christian, I would love to see someone just say what thus says the Lord. I know that sound cliche, but I mean it.
When the discussion turns to any hot issue of the day everyone jumps on their political bandwagon, and does a back pedal to the center. Well I for one am on the side of Jesus. I am tired of wondering if someone will ever just speak up for Jesus. Well I will add my voice to those of you that are contemplating the same thing.
Regardless of political affiliation, Jesus has to be a part of every conversation. No, I do not have all of the answers to these every serious question. I cannot quote Bible verses for every answer that may be given, but if you require one I will search and give one. Some of the beliefs and boundaries I have as a Christian are convictions received from an awesome Lord.
Just as you have core beliefs that you were raised with, so are the beliefs we hold as Christians. It is a quiet faith and confidence that allows there to be a meaningful dialogue between us and others that do not share our beliefs. So begin to have conversations and stick to your beliefs in an assured way realizing that disagreement does not mean dislike or hate. We just simply disagree. As my husband always says, "One of us is right. It may just be a gate question."
